Wishing you a joyous Easter as we celebrate the certainly, permanence, trustworthiness of what Jesus has done for us! “It is finished!” Probably some of the most profound words ever spoken. It is done. Once and for all.
Here are three N.T. Wright quotes that are on my mind this Easter…
“Jesus’s resurrection is the beginning of God’s new project not to snatch people away from earth to heaven but to colonize earth with the life of heaven. That, after all, is what the Lord’s Prayer is about.”
“…left to ourselves we lapse into a kind of collusion with entrophy, acquiescing in the general belief that things may be getting worse but that there’s nothing much we can do about them. And we are wrong. Our task in the present… is to live as resurrection people in between Easter and the final day, with our Christian life, corporate and individual, in both worship and mission, as a sign of the first and a foretaste of the second.”
“Worship is the glad shout of praise that arises to God the creator & God the rescuer from the creation that recognizes its maker, the creation that acknowledges the triumph of Jesus. That’s the worship that goes on in heaven, in God’s dimension, all the time. The question we ought to ask is how best we might join in. ”
